BRD has announced the successful completion of UL263-2020 fire resistance tests for their rock wool sandwich panel, as confirmed by BITFR Company Limited in a recent testing report. The product, identified as model RW100 with a thickness of 100mm, demonstrated an impressive fire resistance time of 60 minutes, exceeding the 1-hour fire resistance requirement as per the test standards.

The report, dated April 22, 2024, details the rigorous testing process in accordance with clause 7 of UL263-2020, which focuses on nonbearing walls and partitions. The panel not only sustained the fire endurance test without flame passage or hot gases ignition but also passed the hose stream test, ensuring no water leakage to the unexposed side.

The successful test results are a testament to the panel’s safety and reliability, marking a significant advancement in building construction materials. The use of such panels can greatly enhance the fire safety of structures, providing an additional layer of protection in the event of a fire.

Beyond fire resistance, rock wool sandwich panels are versatile and are used in various applications such as insulation in both new and retrofit construction projects, noise reduction in commercial and residential settings, and as a lightweight, durable material in modern architecture. Their high thermal insulation properties and sound absorption capabilities make them an eco-friendly choice for sustainable building designs.

As the construction industry continues to prioritize safety and sustainability, the certification of BRD’s rock wool sandwich panel signifies a step forward in meeting these global demands.
